Ranger’s story: When Ranger came to Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, his muzzle had scars and an old injury to his right front leg was so bad that the leg could not be saved. The shelter’s nonprofit arm, Dedicated Animal Welfare Society, will sponsor his leg amputation. Ranger will need a foster home while he heals. The shelter is looking for such a home. Fostering dogs can be a rewarding experience for foster families and the animals they care for.
One of the shelter’s longtime fosters had this to say about the experience: “Sunny (a Chihuahua mix) enriched our lives and sparked a passion for being able to give other dogs a safe and loving space to stay until they found their forever home … giving an animal a safe home, love and compassion will be so rewarding, and it will likely change you for the better …”
