
Grand Prairie police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a fatal Fourth of July shooting, according to a statement released Monday.
Officers responded to report of a shooting about 11:45 p.m. in an alleyway in the 5000 block of Red River Trail. Once there, police found a man, who wasn’t publicly identified, with a suspected gunshot wound.
Grand Prairie Fire Department personnel transported the man to a hospital, where he died, according to the statement.
Investigators determined the two were involved in a fight when the 20-year-old man produced a handgun and fired. According to the statement, he fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by responding officers.
No further information about the shooting was immediately available.
