Third time was not the charm for Jack White, whose most recent wife, Olivia Jean, has named some eyebrow-raising reasons in her filing to divorce the White Stripes frontman.
The Black Belles lead vocalist, 36, filed for divorce in Nashville on June 3, which she also identified as the date of separation, according to the documents obtained by People and TMZ.
“Husband is guilty of inappropriate marital conduct,” reads the filing, which also points to irreconcilable differences.
The estranged spouses appear to share representatives, to whom the Daily News has reached out.
Jean says that while such conduct “makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper,” she is seeking alimony as she says she’s “dependent on [White’s] income.”
Insurance also came into play in the filing, with Jean requesting the court compel 50-year-old White to continue paying her medical insurance and allow her to remain the beneficiary of White’s life insurance policy.
“Inappropriate marital conduct” in Tennessee can refer to “such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct towards the spouse as renders cohabitation unsafe and improper,” according to legal resource Justia.
The Grammy winner asked Jean to marry him during a December 2022 performance in Detroit, after which they tied the knot on stage that same night.
It’s the shortest of White’s three marriages, none of which have lasted particularly long, as well as the starkest age difference between himself and any of his wives.
He and White Stripes bandmate Meg White, 51, were married from 1996 to 2000. He then enjoyed a 6-year union with 47-year-old supermodel Karen Elson, from 2005 to 2013, during which time they welcomed daughter Scarlett and son Henry, now respectively 20 and 18.
