“Hacks” star Jean Smart is a perfect five for five after taking home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series yet again.
The 74-year-old star has claimed that honor every years she played comedy diva Deborah Vance on her HBO program, which has come to an end.
No other female performer has accomplished that feat. “Andy Griffith Show” star Don Knots won Emmys as clumsy Mayberry deputy Barney Fife for every season he was a main cast member on the show.
Smart won over Quinta Brunson of “Abbott Elementary,” Ayo Edebiri from “The Bear,” Elle Fanning, who’s in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” and “The Comeback” star Lisa Kudrow.
“What a ride this has been!” she said in her short acceptance speech.
