How’s your Sunday? Jennifer Garner is having a “Five Star Weekend” along with Regina Hall, Chloe Sevigny and D’Arcy Carden.
She executive produced the new Peacock series that dropped this week.
“Half the world is made up of women,” Garner says. “And from the beginning we’ve needed one another. That’s why our stories resonate.”
Her character is dealing with the loss of her husband. She’s getting the girls together in Nantucket. “Grief is right under the surface all the time. That was probably the trickiest part for me,” Garner adds.
Chloe Sevigny agrees. “I’ve always been drawn to characters that are flawed. I felt people could relate to these women, all their foibles.”
D’Arcy Carden enjoyed making the show so much she wants “a girls weekend with the cast but without cameras and microphones and other people around.”

“American Gladiator” Huntress has “crazy grip strength
Don’t mess with Sydney Hunter, known as “Huntress” on Prime Video’s “American Gladiators” reboot.
Hunter not only deadlifts 500 lbs., she can also hang on a bar for an astounding seven minutes.
“I have crazy grip strength,” she told me.
With the ESPYS in New York for the first time in 25 years and Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center, it was a big sports media week.
Hunter lives in Los Angeles where she is a personal trainer. “When I’m not doing the TV show, I’m in the gym making sure I’m sharpening my skills.”
“American Gladiator,” shot outside Paris over a month and a half, is streaming in 240 countries and territories. “It’s global,” said Hunter.

Knicks City Dancer knew since high school she’s dance at MSG
Marcella Hymowitz was destined to become a NY Knicks City Dancer.
In her high school yearbook, a classmate inscribed, “Maybe I’ll see you dancing on the floor at MSG.”
Hymowitz was a student at Rutgers when she tried out for the Knicks dance squad and made the team. She performed five years, 2001 to 2006. “It took me just as long to graduate college,” she laughed.
Now she has a health and wellness club, The Pearl NYC, on 84th Street between Second and Third Avenues, and is conducting her first Hamptons pop-up this summer with classes at Wave in Southampton and at Post House in Sag Harbor.
Jalen Brunson and his teammates aren’t the only ones in shape at the Garden. “I used to flip and lift up my teammates,” Hymowitz said. “We were real athletes.”

Philanthropist doesn’t want to be the richest guy in the cemetery
Andy Sabin is 80, but he keeps busy.
While his Sabin Metal Corp. refines precious metals from the byproducts of other industries, Sabin’s philanthropic efforts are worldwide.
“I built three orphanages in the Ukraine. I’ve delivered 406 ambulances,” Sabin told me.
He drove one ambulance from Frankfurt, Germany, to the Ukraine.
Sabin doesn’t want to leave too much money to his heirs. “We don’t want to be the richest people in the cemetery.”
The South Fork Natural History Museum, which Sabin founded in Bridgehampton, recently hosted its 37th annual benefit honoring Fabien Cousteau, Bernadette Castro, Jean Shafiroff and Louise and Stephen Pesce.

Nashville-set musical eyes Broadway transfer
Francine LeFrak — who has produced multiple Broadway shows including “Nine” with Antonio Banderas — has a new Off-Broadway production “Music City” at the St. Luke’s Theater on West 46th Street.
The show co-stars hunky heartthrob Stephen Michael Spencer, who plays a singer-songwriter in a Nashville open mike bar called the Wicked Tickle.
It’s an immersive love story with lots of twists, including a meth-taking mom, her talented daughter, a pair of foster-raised brothers, and a surprise ending.
Insiders say this clever and engaging musical could end up on Broadway.

Suzanne Somers’ husband finds love again
Suzanne Somers’ widower, Alan Hamel, just celebrated his 90th birthday with “Blade Runner” star Joanna Cassidy, his girlfriend of over a year, over dinner at Gymkhana in Las Vegas.
The loved-up duo were pals back in the ‘80s and co-starred in the TV series “Hollywood Wives” with Anthony Hopkins and Candice Bergen.
Somers, the “Three’s Company” star, who died in 2023, told Hamel in the last weeks of her life, “Don’t mope around, I want you to live your life, and I hope you find love again.”
After more than five decades together, Hamel admits living alone felt unimaginable after Somers died. “I’d never really lived alone,” he confessed. “I thought I’d simply have to get used to it.”
Hamel said of Cassidy, “We now live together lite.” Hamel lives in Palm Springs while Cassidy is based in LA. “We’re very good together,” he confided.
The producer still runs SuzanneSomers.com, where they sell Suzanne Organics products, adding, “I want the name Suzanne Somers to live on forever.”

World’s oldest comic takes Joe’s Pub
Guinness World Records’ Oldest Working Comedian, D’yan Forest — who has shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, and the late Joan Rivers — is debuting “D’yan in Paris: The Wild 1960s” on her 92nd birthday at Joe’s Pub on July 31.
Long before Emily went to Paris, D’yan was living a far more daring version of the Parisian life. She frequented swingers’ parties, performed in drag bars, dated her way across the City of Lights, and even fell in love with Paris’ first female bus driver.
Now she’s baring it all, at least verbally!
Forest told me, “Most people celebrate their birthday with a cake. Not me, baby, I’m celebrating mine by standing on the stage and confessing what I got up to in Paris in the 1960s. Time to decide whether I’m brave or perhaps I’ve gone completely mad.”

Hernandez was also the keynote speaker at a NY Log Cabin event, which supports LGBTQ+ issues … Meryl Streep, Martin Short, Jamie deRoy, Richard Winkler and Dr. John Wagner saw the hit play “1536” in London. Then Martin and Meryl went to The Ivy.
