As the American Veterinary Medical Association met for its annual convention, about a dozen youngsters also spent the day at the Anaheim Convention Center learning how to care for animals.
The event, dubbed Vet for a Day, was sponsored by NatGeo “Critter Fixers” and Hill’s Pet Nutrition and allowed children of convention attendees to try their hand at suturing, ultrasounds and CPR on simulated animals.
The event also included a question-and-answer session with Dr. Terrence Ferguson and Dr. Vernard Hodges of National Geographic’s “Critter Fixers” television series.
