Clavicular, the influencer best known for “looksmaxxing,” broke his silence early Wednesday, just hours after he suffered a suspected overdose in South Florida.
The 20-year-old online personality, real name Braden Peters, experienced the medical emergency early Tuesday evening during a livestream that was ultimately cut short.
Just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Clavicular tweeted a selfie in which he looks to have blood smeared across his right cheek and the left side of his jaw.
“Just got home, that was brutal,” he wrote. “All of the substances are just a cope trying to feel neurotypical while being in public, but obviously that isn’t a real solution. The worst part of tonight was my face descending from the life support mask.”
The livestream, which was shown without its audio on CBS News Miami, shows Clavicular starting to rub his eyes before throwing his head back, prompting concern from viewers and friends who found him “out of it.”
TMZ reported that, earlier in the livestream, he could be seen drinking something from a mini bottle, the contents of which were unclear.
At one point, his friends sense something’s off, with influencer Androgenic asking “how f–ked up” he is, according to a clip making the rounds online.
A man off-screen asks if he needs ice water. Androgenic then asks if Clavicular wants “an Addy” — likely meaning the ADHD medication Adderall — and Clavicular’s slurred speech and slower movements precedes the feed cutting out.
Miami-Dade EMS dispatch audio obtained by the outlet described a “20-year-old male overdose,” with sources confirming Clavicular was ultimately hospitalized for a suspected overdose.
“Looksmaxxing” predominantly spotlights young white men online looking to make themselves, as BBC News put it, “the most attractive one can possibly look according to a set of prescribed criteria” through methods including diet, exercise and even plastic surgery.
Among these valorized aesthetics are sharp jawlines and upward-angled “hunter” eyes.
