A 42-year-old man is dead following a shooting Tuesday afternoon near Dallas’ Rylie area, police said in a statement.

Dallas police officers responded to reports of a shooting about 12:45 p.m. in the 13600 block of eastbound C.F. Hawn Freeway service road.

Investigators determined Domnique Wrice had been shot by a 22-year-old man, the statement said. Dallas Fire-Rescue officials responded to the scene, where Wrice was pronounced dead.

Police said they found the 22-year-old in Fate, about 30 miles northeast of Dallas, where he was detained and transported to the Dallas Police Headquarters.

He faces a murder charge, and as of Wednesday morning, he remains in the Dallas County jail with no bail set.

No further details on the shooting were immediately available.
