A man was fatally shot on the platform of a Midtown Manhattan subway station Saturday afternoon, cops said.
The victim, believed to be in his 30s, got into an argument with another man on the northbound E train platform at the Seventh Ave. station at 53rd St. around 12:20 p.m., when his adversary pulled a gun and shot him once in the chest, police sources said.
Medics rushed the injured man to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition but he was later pronounced dead.
According to witnesses, a woman passenger jumped off the stopped train and performed CPR on the victim before EMTs arrived at the scene.
It was not clear if the two men knew each other before the fatal confrontation, cops said.
No arrests have been made.
