The Pasadena Humane Society reached out to the public Wednesday seeking a home for a 100-pound pig whose owner is unable to continue caring for her.
“Meet Honey, the 100-pound pig who’s as sweet as her name! Honey’s guardian was unable to care for her anymore, so she’s seeking a new home that’s the right fit for her,” the Humane Society said in a Facebook post.
“This adorable pig is so friendly and comes right up to the front of her kennel to greet new people. We absolutely love her,” they added.
“Like all animals, pigs have specific needs for nutrition, enrichment, veterinary care, space, and more. Additionally, certain areas of Los Angeles allow pigs, while others do not. Bradbury, South Pasadena, Monrovia and Sierra Madre are some areas that allow pigs. Areas that do not allow pigs include Pasadena, Arcadia, Glendale, La Cañada-Flintridge, San Marino, and the city of Los Angeles. Please check your local ordinances for more information!”
The donor-supported, nonprofit organization, which provides shelter services for Pasadena and several surrounding communities, said pigs are smart, social, and can make wonderful pets for those willing to give them the proper care.
