A suspect crashed a stolen U-Haul into another vehicle on Monday, March 30, in San Clemente, fatally injuring a passenger in the other vehicle.
Deputies attempted to stop the U-Haul just before 8 a.m.
During a short pursuit, the suspect crashed into another vehicle near South Ola Vista and Avenida Granada, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
“The driver and passenger of the U-Haul fled,” according to a sheriff’s statement.
The other vehicle had at least three occupants, with one killed by the collision, authorities said.
Deputies captured the two suspects.
