A man and woman have been arrested by Midlothian police following an investigation into potential sexual assault involving a child.

Officers were first dispatched to investigate the possible assault on Dec. 17, according to a news release from Midlothian police.

Officers arrested Madison Jones, 30, and later Zackery Dondlinger, 37.

Jones faces an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge as well as multiple additional related offenses, police said.

Jones briefly worked as a substitute teacher at Heritage High School and Baxter Elementary, Midlothian Independent School District confirmed in a statement.

The district also confirmed that Jones only worked as a substitute for four days this year, in October and November, the latest day being Nov. 19 at the high school.

According to the district, Jones is no longer with the district, and her charges do not appear to have occurred at Midlothian ISD schools or with students, according to the district.

Jones is possibly facing additional charges including possession of child pornography and indecency sexual contact with a child, according to Midlothian ISD.

Police said they arrested Dondlinger of Happy on Tuesday in Loving County. He faces a sexual performance by a child charge and is being held at the Winkler County Detention Center, police said.
