Rosie O’Donnell is joining “The Rocky Horror Show.”
The Tony Award winning star will be the Broadway show’s Narrator from Oct. 6 to Oct. 18 at Studio 54 on Broadway. That role is currently being played by Rachel Dratch. She’s expected to return on Oct. 20.
O’Donnell famously moved to Ireland after her nemesis, Donald Trump, became the country’s president for a second time in January 2025.
She said in an August interview that the controversy surrounding her departure made her feel “re-famous.”
The 64-year-old Long Island native returned to the U.S. earlier this year to attend the Tony Awards in June and perform her one-woman show “Common Knowledge” at the Daryl Roth Theatre from July 22 through August 8. She also hosted “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in Los Angeles for a week in August.
Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show” is the only musical to have remained in continuous production globally for the past 52 years, according to the show’s organizers. It opened in 1973 at London’s Royal Court Theatre.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” movie premiered in 1975 starring Tim Curry, who died on Aug. 15 in Los Angeles at 80 years old.
O’Donnell will be joined on stage by stars including Scissor Sisters singer Jake Shears, who plays the Frank-N-Furter role made famous by Curry.
Lorna Courtney, Amber Gray and Kevin McHale are also on the playbill. The show is directed by “Oh, Mary!” Tony-winner Sam Pinkleton.
