Shooting reported outside singer Chris Brown’s home in Los Angeles

Gunfire reportedly broke out near Chris Brown’s home in Los Angeles late Friday afternoon.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that LAPD officers responded to Brown’s mansion in Tarzana around 4 p.m. to investigate reports of a shooting. In dispatch audio obtained by the outlet, a woman caller says a Black man in his 30s shot at her vehicle after a brief confrontation.

When officers arrived on the scene, they interviewed both the woman and the suspect, neither of whom has been publicly identified. The man told authorities they got into an argument after she refused to leave the area. Tensions quickly escalated, and he claimed the woman used her car to run over his foot — after which he started shooting with a “CO2-style weapon,” police said.

Authorities arrested the man at the scene on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism. He’s currently being held on $50,000 bail.

Brown, 36, was not home at the time and he is not believed to have been involved in the incident, police said. Authorities also noted the shooting occurred on the street outside Brown’s home, not on the actual property.

The bizarre clash comes after the two-time Grammy winner earlier this week revealed the cover art of his upcoming 12th album, titled “Brown,” which is slated to be released May 8. He’s also gearing up for for a 33-stop R&B tour with Usher next month.
