A Turning Point USA (TPUSA) rally at the University of California Berkeley turned violent Monday night as protesters clashed with the right-wing group whose founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated on a Utah campus in September.
Four people were arrested and at least one skirmish was caught on video, according to California station KTVU.
One man wearing a red shirt with “freedom” emblazoned across its chest was bloodied after becoming involved in a fight with what appeared to be a protester. The shirt was modeled after the one Kirk wore when he was gunned down at the start of his group’s American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University. That tour concluded with Monday night’s rally.

TPUSA members blamed the chaos on anti-fascism demonstrators outside the hosting venue. Video appears to show at least one masked protester mocking Kirk’s assassination by pointing to his neck. Kirk was killed with a single shot near his throat.
Police reportedly said that at least one of the people taken into custody is accused of battery. At least two of the individuals arrested were said to have been TPUSA supporters.
Hundreds of demonstrators showed up to protest the MAGA organization they accused of promoting racism and sexism.

“We want to make clear that we’re not going to be intimidated and this is not the campus to do this on,” Hoku Jeffrey of the opposition group By Any Means Necessary Coalition reportedly said.
A TPUSA spokesperson said there were no issues inside the crowded venue, where comedian Rob Schneider filled in for Kirk. Schneider, who’s from northern California, posted a photo of a “violent agitator” being detained Monday and wondered why he came to the free event.
