A 58-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a Queens road Wednesday, cops said.
The victim was crossing Jamaica Ave. heading south near Parsons Blvd. in Jamaica just before 3 p.m., when she was struck by a driver in a dark-colored sedan, police said.
The driver, who struck the victim while traveling west on Jamaica Ave., sped off after the collision, said police.
A witness, who gave his name as Edwin, was heading into the nearby Social Security Administration building when the crash occurred.
“She got hit by the car and she flew off,” Edwin said. “She was on the ground and emergency services was just arriving. They were doing CPR, but she wasn’t moving, not at all.”
Medics rushed the woman to Jamaica Hospital, where she died.
Police are withholding the victim’s identity until they have first notified her family of her death.
