A woman was found dead with head trauma and stab wounds in a Central Park gazebo Sunday morning, officials said.
The woman’s body was found in a wooden gazebo near the Central Park Ramble about 9:45 a.m., an FDNY spokesperson said.
The woman is believed to be in her 60s and may have been living in the park, amNY reported. Police are working to identify her.
The gazebo where she was found is near Central Park Path and W. 74th St, according to the FDNY. The discovery was made as a powerful nor’easter continued to move through the city, bringing rain and high winds.
The woman suffered head trauma and had multiple stab wounds, amNY reported.
The NYPD has not yet deemed the case a homicide and a city Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine her cause of death.
