A woman riding a standup e-scooter was killed when she collided with a man driving a Tesla on Manhattan’s Upper West Side Thursday, cops said.
The 49-year-old victim was riding north along Amsterdam Ave. when the Tesla driver struck her as he traveled west on W. 60th St. about 10:35 a.m., according to law enforcement.
Medics rushed the victim to Mt. Sinai Morningside Hospital, where she died. Her name was not immediately disclosed.
The Tesla driver, a 34-year-old man, remained at the scene. No charges were immediately filed.
An investigation by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad remains ongoing, cops said.
The woman’s death follows two fatal crashes involving e-scooters in Brooklyn last week.
Ajpop Walter was riding his scooter south on 14th Ave. when he collided with a Toyota driver, a 56-year-old man traveling in the same direction, near 77th St. in Dyker Heights at about 5:16 p.m. July 22, according to law enforcement.
Medics rushed the victim to Maimonides Medical Center, where he died later that day.
One day earlier, Melba Jordan, 45, was killed riding her scooter north along Franklin Ave. in Crown Heights when the driver of a 2007 Peterbilt dump truck heading in the opposite direction struck her as the driver turned right onto Pacific St. shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday, cops said.
Medics rushed Jordan to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, but she could not be saved.
