Two men face capital murder charges for allegedly shooting at a car, hitting a pregnant woman and killing her unborn baby early Sunday morning, Dallas police said in a statement.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting about 12:40 a.m. in the 4600 block of Wimbelton Way.

Investigators said two men, a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old, got into a fight with an unidentified man at a nearby business. The men followed him as he drove away and fired shots at his car, hitting a pregnant woman inside, the statement said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue took the woman to the hospital, where her unborn baby later died, police later confirmed. Police did not say what condition the woman is in.

Police said the two men were arrested and face aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, narcotics and gun charges.

They both face a capital murder charge in connect with the death of the baby, the statement said.
