A 27-year-old man was shot during an attempted robbery at a Manhattan subway station Tuesday, according to law enforcement sources.
The victim was struck in the abdomen at the Wall St. station in the Financial District around 12:30 p.m., sources said.
Medics rushed the man to Bellevue Hospital, where he is expected to survive.
Police initially believed the victim, who was not cooperating with the investigation, was stabbed.
The teenage suspect, wearing tan pants, a black jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt, and a multicolored backpack, fled the station on foot and was last seen heading south on Broadway.
