Rapper Offset was shot in Florida just more than two weeks ago — but he’s not letting that stop his hustle.
The former Migos rapper was shot the night of April 6 in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, according to the Seminole Police Department. In the immediate aftermath, he was rushed to the hospital, where he recovered for several days.
During a recent appearance on the Creators Inc. Podcast, Offset revealed that a bullet struck his hip, though it did not prevent him from taking the stage in Arkansas just five days later. He performed while sitting in a wheelchair and a large armchair at Rowfest on April 11.
“People get shot every day. You got to keep pushing. Like Energizer Bunny, man. Keep this s–t pushing,” he began. “The show don’t ever stop at the end of the day.”
Offset added that he felt “blessed” to be on the mend, emphasizing that he did not plan on slowing down despite his gunshot wound.
“The grind don’t stop bro. I don’t want nobody feel sorry for me or no s–t like that,” he added. “Like I’m blessed. I can keep pushing. So why would I just sit down? I got to keep pushing. I got to keep going.”

Lil Tjay, a Bronx native born Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested for his involvement in a fight that occurred just before Offset was shot, with authorities alleging he was the one who instigated the brawl. He was allegedly seen on security video exiting his car and pointing out Offset to his group of friends before walking to them around 7:22 p.m., according to a probable cause affidavit.
A fight eventually broke out between the groups, during which one of Lil Tjay’s associates pulled out a gun, then shot and wounded Offset, police said.
Lil Tjay was briefly jailed on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct-affray before he was released on $500 bond.
