Cops arrested a suspect Saturday who they say fatally stabbed a man in the chest in Brooklyn.
Jayvon Boyd, 27, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the stabbing, which occurred the day before. The victim, whose name has not been released, was found unconscious with a stab wound to the chest at Bainbridge St. and Howard Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 7:44 a.m., cops said.
EMS rushed him to Interfaith Medical Center, where he died.
The victim lived in the same building as Boyd, according to neighbors.
“I was crying when I heard about it when he died,” a woman who lives in the building said. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God,’ because he was so friendly, the nice neighbor. He’s just gonna be missed.”
She said she believed the victim, whose name she didn’t know, was in his 60s or possibly 70s.

Another neighbor said he “heard a commotion” at the building Friday morning, but didn’t pay much attention to it because it’s not that uncommon.
The victim, he said, “seemed like a cool old guy.”
It was unclear what sparked the attack. News12 said that on Friday a trail of blood could be seen leading out from the building.
A small memorial to the slain man was set up on the sidewalk outside, possibly at the spot where the mortally wounded victim collapsed. On the sidewalk next to it, someone had set a takeout coffee cup.
The first neighbor said the man often could be seen holding a coffee in his hand.
“His favorite cup is coffee,” she said.
Boyd’s arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending Saturday.
