Cara Delevingne has confirmed she was romantically “entangled” with Amber Heard during the actress’ high-profile divorce with Johnny Depp.
Delevingne opened up about their relationship during an appearance on “The Louis Theroux Podcast” on Monday. She recalled becoming close with Heard while they worked on the set of the movie “London Fields” — in which Depp had a brief cameo— back in 2013. She said they formed a quick bond, triggering cheating allegations from Heard’s then-husband, but she also clarified that nothing had been going on between them at the time.
“I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy,” the supermodel said. “Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose.”
Host Louis Theroux then asked Delevingne to clarify.
“No, I don’t suppose. I know,” she said.
Depp and Heard started dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of the 2009 movie, “The Rum Diary.” They tied the knot in 2015 only to split after 15 months of marriage in 2016. Heard at the time obtained a temporary restraining order, alleging Depp had physically abused her. Their divorce was finalized in 2017.
“Then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled,” Delevingne continued, noting that Heard was also “entangled with other people.”
Theroux then mentioned “Elon,” referring to Heard’s romance with Elon Musk. The duo were rumored to be dating in 2016 and confirmed their relationship in April 2017.
“There you go,” the model replied.
Heard and Musk ended their relationship in August 2017.
In 2019, Depp sued Heard for defamation over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she called herself a victim of domestic abuse. She did not at any point use his name in the essay.
A jury later awarded Depp more than $10 million in damages, while Heard won one of her counterclaims and was awarded $2 million.
They went on to reach a settlement, with Heard agreeing to pay Depp $1 million.
