“Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander donated to a charity championed by Courtney Stodden after she complained about a sexually charged comedy sketch the pair filmed when she was a teenager.
Stodden, 31, posted a still photo from a 2012 “Funny or Die” video showing Alexander running his phone over her breasts looking for a “signal” on Monday.
“Looking back now, I don’t see comedy. I see a 17-year-old girl whose body became part of an adult joke,” she wrote next to the photo.
After Alexander apologized for the “inappropriate” short film in a statement expressing regret over his involvement, she “encouraged” the 66-year-old sitcom star to donate to Unchained At Last.
He responded with a donation to that group, which combats forced and child marriages, his representative told the Daily News. TMZ reported he gave $15,000.
Stodden thanked Alexander for his donation on Friday.
“I want to sincerely thank him for choosing to turn words into action,” she wrote on Instagram. “Accountability isn’t about public punishment — it’s about taking meaningful steps that can help create change.”
She further encouraged others to follow Alexander’s lead.
The “Funny or Die” bit Stodden cited also starred her ex-husband Doug Hutchison, whom she married when she was 16 despite a 35-year age difference. Stodden says she now feels exploited by that marriage, which ended in 2020.
