A 27-year-old woman was was killed in Midtown early Wednesday when the driver of the Tesla she was riding in crashed into scaffolding, police said.
The woman driving the car, also 27, was arrested and is hospitalized. Charges against her are pending.
The fatal crash happened at 2:43 a.m. at E. 42nd St. and Madison Ave.
Police said the driver, heading east, lost control of her car and crashed into scaffolding and a bus stop near the intersection, then continued four blocks before finally stopping at Second Ave.
It wasn’t clear if speed was a factor in the crash.
