Fourteen-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at the 78th Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Her appearance came in the form of a pre-taped sketch she shot with host Mariska Hargitay and the rest of the “Law & Order” cast.

The segment featured Hargitay and her colleagues in the detective’s room putting together clues to determine whether Swift would make an appearance at the awards show.

Swift, also playing a rookie investigator, shows up to help put the pieces together.

“Hey guys, this isn’t adding up,” she says.

“And who asked you, rookie?” Ice T responds.

After a little more banter, Swift shares her insight.

“I think what we’re going to be looking for is going is hiding in plain sight,” she suggests.

In real time, Swift was actually attending the Kansas City Chiefs season opener, seated next to Tom Cruise at Arrowhead Stadium where her husband,Travis Kelce, suited up to play the Denver Broncos.

Hargitay mentions that the game would be taking place during their Emmy Awards bit, causing the detectives to conclude Swift wouldn’t be at their ceremony in Los Angeles.

“Maybe she’s gonna do one of those pre-game sketch things to support the host?” the rookie shrewdly suggests.
