An NYPD sergeant was arrested for sending a naked photo of a subordinate officer and using the Police Department’s computer database to track her movements, sources familiar with the case said.

Sgt. Joel DeJesus surrendered himself Thursday on an indictment charging him with computer trespass, official misconduct and unlawful dissemination of an intimate image, officials said.

The case involved a relationship gone sour between the accused and a female subordinate, according to a source familiar with the department’s investigation.

DeJesus repeatedly accessed records for NYPD license plate readers, which capture images of cars’ license plate numbers as they travel throughout the city, between Aug. 2024 and July 2025, sources said.

The suspect sent the nude picture of the victim in July 2024, court documents show.

The defendant pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Bronx Supreme Criminal Court on Thursday and was released. The charges against DeJesus are not eligible for bail.

DeJesus joined the force in Jan. 2012. He was transferred to Manhattan’s Midtown South Precinct in February and made $170,000 in 2025, records show.

NYPD officers face an automatic 30-day suspension upon arrest.

A message left seeking comment from DeJesus’s lawyer was not immediately returned.
