Ariana Grande was spotted hanging out with her ex-boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, just weeks after confirming her split from her “Wicked” co-star, Ethan Slater.
In photos making the rounds online, the “We Can’t Be Friends” singer was seen enjoying a meal at De Nada Cantina in Austin, Texas, with several people, including Alvarez.
She wore a black T-shirt from her ongoing Eternal Sunshine Tour for the outing on Thursday.
“They’ve been hanging out recently,” a source told People.
Alvarez was also spotted at Grande’s show on Friday, which coincided with her 33rd birthday, TMZ reported. She performed her hit, “Thank U, Next,” which notoriously namedrops several of her exes.
In the original version, Grande croons: “Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh.” But, during her most recent performance, she tweaked the lyrics a bit.
“Wrote some songs about Ricky, he’s still got my back,” she sang.
Grande and Alvarez started dating in 2015, and they split the following year in July 2016. They connected during her Honeymoon Tour, when Alvarez worked as her backup dancer.
“We’re happy,” Grande told Billboard of the relationship at the time. “I’m a very happy girl. I have a healthy life right now, and I think that’s all anyone cares to know. The end.”
Following their breakup, the “No Tears Left to Cry” songstress went on to date Mac Miller and Pete Davidson before tying the knot with Dalton Gomez in May 2021. They finalized their divorce in March 2024, and Grande quickly began dating Slater.
Their split was confirmed earlier this month.
