A 40-year-old man died after being struck by a tractor-trailer and then a taxi cab while crossing a busy Bronx street, police said Sunday.
The victim was crossing Bruckner Blvd. near E. 138th St. in Mott Haven when he was struck by a northbound tractor-trailer driver about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. He fell to the pavement and was then hit by a taxi cab driver.
The tractor-trailer driver continued on without stopping. It was not immediately clear if they were aware they hit someone, police said. The driver has not been located.
The 61-year-old man driving the taxi, a 2015 Honda CR-V, remained at the scene and faced no immediate charges.
Medics rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he died. His name was not immediately released.
