A callous thief took off with a 59-year-old man’s electric wheelchair inside a Bronx apartment building, cops said Saturday.
The thief stole the man’s wheelchair, worth $5,000, from the building on Grand Concourse and E. 161st St. in Concourse on April 21 around 2:11 a.m. The victim, who is a tenant there, left his wheelchair under the building staircase on the main floor before he traveled up a flight off stairs, cops said.
The building’s elevator wasn’t functioning at the time of the incident. The victim needs his wheelchair to get around but was still able to climb up the stairs.

No arrests have been made. Cops are hoping the community recognizes the suspect, who fled the scene — in the victim’s wheelchair.
No one was injured in the incident.
