For as long as there has been fast food chains, there have been jingles singing their praises. But how often have you heard a jingle played on a pan flute made of corn on the cob?
The London Vegetable Orchestra, which is a real thing, is making music for Chipotle Mexican Grill.
The ensemble recorded a piece called “From Ground to Sound” in Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios in St. John’s Wood, a London neighborhood about 5,500 miles from Chipotle’s headquarters in Newport Beach.
Abbey Road is where the Beatles did most of their recording, including the 1969 album bearing its name.
“Every note, beat and texture was performed using ingredients found in Chipotle restaurants,” according to a news release from the fast-casual chain.
The track is available on Spotify and Apple Music. The recording session, which required multiple takes, is documented in a YouTube video.
The London Vegetable Orchestra has five members and, yes, the video shows them walking in a line in a crosswalk like the Fab Four on the “Abbey Road” album jacket.
Their instruments tend to sound like kazoos and whistles. They include peppers, onions, jalapeños, and lettuce, which are used as percussion.
The group was founded in 2010 and has performed throughout the world, according to its website. It visited Windsor Castle in 2025 and performed for King Charles, who joined them in a rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” playing a carrot fashioned into a recorder.
Chipotle uses “53 real ingredients” in its foods, as it proclaims on its website. About 20 of them are produce. The chain is currently spotlighting a protein, Pollo Asado, featuring citrus, garlic and Mexican spices. It also recently debuted Chile Lime Chips.
Chipotle has 20 locations in the United Kingdom, including a London shop that is shown in the YouTube video supplying the London Vegetable Orchestra with its instruments.
