Corey Feldman hospitalized after mid-flight medical emergency: report

“Stand By Me” actor Corey Feldman has been hospitalized after experiencing a mid-flight medical emergency as he traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles, according to reports.

“The Goonies” star on Monday was met by paramedics at his flight’s gate in LAX and immediately rushed to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment. His publicist later told USA Today he was “resting” while awaiting MRI results, but did not provide further details regarding Feldman’s condition.

The former child star said he felt unwell shortly before his plane touched down, and he was subsequently seen by a doctor onboard, a source told TMZ. The outlet added that they were told his medical team believes the episode could be pancreatitis or gallstones, but that the actor still needs to undergo additional testing.

According to the Mayo Clinic, pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas, and gallstones, meanwhile, form when bile — or hardened deposits of digestive fluid — gathers in the gallbladder, which causing sudden and intense pain.

Prior to his hospitalization, Feldman shared a series of photos to Instagram of his recent travels in the Midwest. He’d been in the area for the “Stand by Me” 40th anniversary tour stop at The Chicago Theatre, appearing alongside co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton.

THE BOYS R BACK IN TOWN!!!” he captioned one post.

Their co-star River Phoenix died of a drug overdose in 1993 at just 23 years old.
