‘How I Met Your Mother’ actor guilty of stabbing makeup artist ex-girlfriend

An actor accused of busting into his ex-girlfriend’s home and then stabbing her more than 20 times is facing life behind bars for the brutal attack, officials said Saturday.

Nick Pasqual, who appeared in a 2011 episode of “How I Met Your Mother” among other television shows, was found guilty Friday of attempted murder and first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and other charges, ABC 7 reported.

The jury’s decision followed a week-long trial in California, during which makeup artist Allie Shehorn testified about the night Pasqual, her ex-boyfriend, nearly killed her.

During her testimony, Shehorn recalled a violent fight leading to their split as well as her successful efforts to obtain a restraining order against Pasqual.

The stabbing occurred on May 23, 2024, in the Shadow Hills neighborhood around 4:30 a.m., shortly after their breakup, officials said.

“I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door,” she said from the stand, recalling the night of the attack.

Shehorn spent a week in intensive care after the attack and underwent several surgeries amid her recovery. Her scars were clearly visible on her arms and neck as she testified. Some of her makeup credits include “Rebel Moon: Part One,” and “Babylon.”

Pasqual was arrested one week after the bloody attack attempting to flee the country. He was apprehended trying to cross into Mexico by way of Sierra Blanca in Texas.

His sentencing hearing is set for June.
