In-N-Out Burger opens its eastern headquarters in Tennessee

In-N-Out Burger has opened its eastern headquarters in Franklin, Tenn., a move that signals the fast food chain may be moving some of its leadership out of Southern California.

Its mouth-watering address is 1948 Double Double Drive, in honor of the year the chain was founded in Baldwin Park.

Owner and president Lynsi Snyder has said she plans to move to Tennessee and in a recent online interview, said that the eastern hub will create job opportunities for staff members as well as the possibility of finding cheaper housing in the southeastern state.

Snyder also said In-N-Out remains committed to California and denied online rumors that it would abandon the state.

The 90,255-square-foot facility quietly opened on Oct. 26, chief operating officer Denny Warnick acknowledged in an email.

The facility “will work alongside our distribution warehouse in Lebanon to support our growing restaurant operations throughout the region,” the email reads.

“We will start with a significant family of office associates at opening, then with ongoing hiring and relocations, we’ll grow toward our eventual fully staffed target.”

The email quotes Synder as saying it was “truly an exciting day for our In-N-Out family.”

“We’re deeply grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received in Tennessee and have loved becoming part of these communities as we support our associates and care for our customers every day.”

Franklin is a suburb of Nashville that, incidentally, has shown up in recent holiday movies such as “A Little Women’s Christmas” and “The Christmas Ring,” either as a setting or a shooting location.

In-N-Out has a drive-thru on campus and has opened five locations in Tennessee since last December.

In-N-Out has 445 locations in 10 states. It lists 291 in California.

Snyder and Gov. Bill Lee announced the chain’s expansion into Tennessee in January 2023. Snyder participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for the offices in September 2024. In February 2025, In-N-Out announced it would be departing its Irvine headquarters by 2030 in favor of Baldwin Park and Franklin. It has since leased office space in San Dimas.

In-N-Out is a family-owned company, founded by Synder’s grandparents, Harry and Esther Snyder. It was later run by her uncle, Rich Snyder – who made the move from Baldwin Park to Irvine – and father, Guy Snyder.

Lynsi Snyder is a Southern California native and spent part of her youth in Northern California, where she applied for and got a job at In-N-Out’s Redding restaurant.

Snyder and her husband Sean Ellingson have been visible at Southern California events supporting their non-profit organization Slave 2 Nothing, including performing in rock concerts at major Los Angeles venues and driving in beachfront car cruises.

Snyder’s most recent fundraising concert took place Oct. 24 at The Wiltern, but In-N-Out is currently raising funds for a new foundation, His Eyes, which aims to bring hope to the homeless. Customers are invited to round up their purchases for the cause in November.
