Luke Wilson has welcomed his first child, with his girlfriend Kendall Yates, who is 30 years the actor’s junior, an eyebrow-raising fact that’s generated many a headline, as well as comparisons to Bill Belichick’s own 48-year age gap with his girlfriend.
The “Legally Blonde” actor, 54, and 24-year-old Yates are parents to a newborn daughter, People reports.
The couple reportedly brought their little girl to a press event this week for Netflix’s “The Hawk,” introducing her to Wilson’s castmates.
It’s unclear exactly when Wilson and Yates got together, though People reports their romance has spanned “a few years” and largely been under the radar.
They debuted their relationship at the 2024 premiere of “Horizon: An American Saga,” according to Us Weekly. Per E! News, they’ve been together since at least 2023.
While May-December relationships are a dime a dozen in Hollywood, that of Wilson and Yates has resonated differently for many online.
“CR thinks Luke Wilson could’ve been Harrison Ford? Kinda problematic if you ask me,” tweeted former Ringer producer Bobby Wagner, in a nod to the sports and pop culture site’s recurring category on the hit “Rewatchables” podcast.
“Competing with Luke Wilson and Bill Belichick for girls,” one observer tweeted, in reference to the former New England Patriots coach, 74, whose girlfriend Jordon Hudson is 25.
“The year Kendall was born, Luke Wilson was in ‘Legally Blonde,’” tweeted another onlooker.
“Oh girl you’re too pretty and full of life to be dating geriatrics,” cautioned one.
“The Hawk” is a reunion for Wilson and Will Ferrell, who previously co-starred in 2003’s “Old School,” with the former making subsequent cameos in Ferrell-starring vehicles like “Anchorman” and “Blades of Glory,”
Wilson’s younger brother Owen has also acted with Ferrell on multiple occasions, most notably in “Zoolander” and “Wedding Crashers.”
