A loaded firearm was found in a backpack inside a Queens high school following a schoolyard brawl Thursday morning, cops said.
School staff found the backpack lying unattended after breaking up a fight inside a hallway at Cambria Heights Academy on 91st Ave. near 188th St. in Hollis shortly after 10 a.m., police said.
Inside the bag, they found a semi-automatic handgun with what appeared to be an extended clip and 14 rounds of ammunition. Half of the clip was wrapped in a “Fruit Burst” wrapper.
Cambria Heights Academy is not equipped with metal detectors, cops said.
There were no arrests.
