A South Jersey man was charged with attempted murder and related charges in the shooting of a 61-year-old man at a Cherry Hill shopping center on Wednesday.

Terrence Roberts, 52, of Cherry Hill, was arrested and charged on Thursday with first-degree attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possessing a large capacity magazine. He was being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing in Superior Court, according to a statement from the county prosecutor’s office.

Police had not disclosed the victim’s name as of Friday afternoon. He was reported in stable condition at Cooper University Hospital, the statement said.

Roberts is accused of shooting the victim at 3:53 p.m. on Wednesday while the man was sitting in a car in a parking lot of the Liberty Bell Plaza at 2083 Route 70 East in Cherry Hill.

After police identified Roberts by using surveillance video, they found a number of firearms at his home Thursday and arrested him, according to the statement.
