Police on Friday released pictures of a man wanted for trying to rape an 83-year-old woman he followed into an upper Manhattan apartment building.
Once inside the building, near W. 204th St. and Virmilyea Ave. in Inwood, the suspect followed the woman to her apartment where he exposed his genitals and made “sexual advances” as he tried to force his way into her apartment, according to police.
The woman fought him off and was able to slam the door in the suspect’s face before calling 911, police said.
Medics treated the woman for minor injuries at the scene.
The suspect ran away after the woman thwarted his attempt to assault her.
Cops are asking anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
