NYPD inspector Jeremy Scheublin surrendered to authorities Friday on attempted rape and other charges, accused of attacking a female officer inside the Bronx station house he commanded, authorities said.
Scheublin, a 24-year-veteran on the force, looked down during most of his arraignment on an indictment at Bronx criminal Court, at which bail was set at $25,000 cash oir $75,000 bond. He was ordered to return to court
The Daily News reported in March that Scheublin had been placed on modified duty — stripped of his gun and shield — after his accuser had moved to get Scheublin, a 24-year veteran, removed from a position of authority over his accuser amid ongoing probes by the Bronx district attorney and the NYPD.
In a lawsuit filed March 6 against Scheublin and the city, the officer, a five-year veteran alleged Scheublin, then the commanding officer at the 46th Precinct, threw her onto a couch at the Fordham Heights stationhouse on New Year’s Day 2025, tried to remove her gun belt and wrapped his hand around her neck while forcibly kissing and groping her until she managed to kick him in the groin and flee.
“I don’t know whether to kiss or choke you,” the suit quoted Scheublin saying, adding that he wanted to “make biracial babies.”

Scheublin, the suit also said, lashed out after learning she’d reported the incident to the NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau. The officer said Scheublin altered her schedule, signing her up for 3 a.m. shifts, removing her partner and cutting back on her overtime.
In January, Scheublin was transferred to borough headquarters, but still had authority over her.
He was modified by the NYPD, which made the move after the officer’s lawyer, John Scola, asked a judge to do so.
Scola at the time said the NYPD only took action “because we dragged the NYPD into court.”
