A teen perched precariously on the edge of the Williamsburg Bridge, threatening to jump, was hoisted off the span by police Wednesday, cops said.
The 19-year-old man climbed down to a ledge beneath the roadway on the bridge’s Brooklyn side around 12:49 p.m., police said.
Members of the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit descended the bridge’s framework to meet the man, speaking to him for about an hour before pulling him to safety.
Video posted online shows the man sitting on a beam at the bridge’s edge, his feet dangling over the East River about 135 feet below, as two police officers climb down to meet him.
Another clip shows the man surrounded by police after he was hoisted up to the roadway.
Medics took the man to Bellevue Hospital for an evaluation
