Paris Hilton is hitting back at critics of her family’s “Beauty and the Beast” Halloween costumes.

The reality star and DJ earlier this week shared photos online of her family all dressed up. She got the princess treatment, appearing as Disney’s Belle alongside her husband, Carter Reum, who wore a Beast costume, complete with a furry mask and luxe blue jacket. The kids rounded out their group costume, with 3-year-old Phoenix dressed as the candelabra, Lumière, while 2-year-old London dressed up as Chip, the teacup.

“My life is a fairytale, and the magic never ends,” Hilton captioned the images.

Some internet users questioned why Hilton decided to be the princess instead of casting her young daughter as the heroine.

“Cute but maybe the kids should have been belle and beast and the adults the side dishes I mean it is a kids holiday…” reads one comment, which has also been like more than 2,800 times.

A second Instagrammer agreed, writing: “She LITERALLY uses her family as props,” while another said one said, “Why not let your daughter be Belle? Attention has to be on her! Poor little girl!”

On Wednesday, Hilton responded to a video discussing the family costume, explaining in the comment section that she let London choose the theme and which character she wanted to be.

“Beauty and the Beast is one of their favorite movies, and London said she wanted to dress up as Chip,” she wrote. “She said it was her favorite character in the movie.”

Hilton and Reum were first romantically linked in 2019, and they wed in a lavish ceremony in Los Angeles on Nov. 11, 2021. They welcomed Phoenix via surrogate in January 2023, and London was born via surrogate in November 2023. Reum also has a daughter born in 2013 from a previous relationship with former actress Laura Bellizzi.
