Phil Collins says he may soon start work on a derogative song about U.S. firearm culture and obesity while taking a few shots at President Trump as well.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner told British broadcaster Piers Morgan he hasn’t played drums in 15 years and isn’t writing music at the moment, but never can tell when inspiration might come his way.

“Well, sometimes you get ideas that will come to you. I mean, I’ve got a song that’s waiting to be written called ‘Fat People with Guns,’ which is about America,” he said on Morgan’s YouTube program.

Collins will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist next month in Ohio. He and his band Genesis were inducted in 2010.

The “In the Air Tonight” singer told Morgan that he jotted down the line about Americans with weapons so he won’t forget it. The London native said that he just may write a song on that topic if someone doesn’t steal his idea.

Health problems have prevented Collins from performing since he and Genesis concluded their Last Domino..? tour in London in 2022. That visit included a pair of December 2021 Madison Square Garden shows.

Collins told Morgan that he’s no pundit, but he has no problem speaking out against the U.S. President or the “scary” state of American politics.

“When someone like Trump is as nasty as he is, you end up feeling dislike for him,” he said.

Collins said he wouldn’t be at all surprised if Trump tries to remain in office after his second terms is complete despite that not being unconstitutional.

“I’m not a political person, but I do see right from wrong,” Collins said.
