
Here’s a look at what roads will closed this Fourth of July weekend in downtown Dallas.
Whether you’re heading to watch the fireworks at Klyde Warren Park, in the Colony or spending the day at the Flower Mound Independence Day Fest, getting around North Texas this July 4 weekend could take a little extra planning.
Several road closures around Dallas are already taking place for World Cup related events such as the FIFA Fan Festival at Fair Park and the International Broadcast Center downtown. Now, Fourth of July festivities are expected to contribute additional traffic.
Here’s a look at what roads will be closed for the July 4 weekend around North Texas.

Downtown Dallas
Social Saturdays
Main Street Social Saturdays is a car-free experience taking place along several blocks downtown, and will continue through the end of the World Cup. Here, guests can enjoy live music, family friendly activities, local vendors and even chalk art.
Main Street, between Akard Street and Harwood Street, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday.
FIFA Fan Festival at Fair Park
First Avenue will be closed from Fair Park Station to Pennsylvania Avenue in South Dallas until July 19. Grand Avenue, which is perpendicular to First Avenue, will also be closed.

International Broadcast Center
South Griffin Street will be closed until July 23, after the end of the World Cup.
Other road closures near the International Broadcast Center, such as South Akard Street, Hotel Street and Cesar Chavez Boulevard, are related to ongoing construction projects by the Texas Department of Transportation. They are expected to last until mid-2027.
Road closures related to construction at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, which is serving as the primary location for the International Broadcast Center, are also taking place. Until 2029, the Jefferson Boulevard Viaduct, Memorial Drive and South Lamar Street will be closed.

Plano
The city of Plano is expecting about 15,000 people to attend its All-American Fourth celebration. Road closures are set to begin on July 4 at 4 p.m. and end at 11 p.m. All lanes of East Spring Creek Parkway between East Parker Road and Jupiter Road will be closed. All lanes of Los Rios Boulevard between Jupiter Road and Fitzgerald Drive will also be closed.
Once the parking lots at the Plano Event Center and Collin College are full, Jupiter Road between Parker Road and Chaparral Road will be closed. East Spring Creek Parkway will also extend its closure to K Avenue and Jupiter Road.
The Colony
The Colony is hosting several Independence Day events Saturday, including a 5K race, parade and festival.

At 6 a.m. Saturday morning, one eastbound lane on North Colony Boulevard, from Pecan Crossing to Newton Street, will be closed for the Liberty by the Lake 5K race. All streets south of the area will be blocked. Roads will reopen once the last runner comes through.
Starting at 9:45 a.m., Nash Drive from Miller Drive to Blair Oaks Drive will be closed for the Independence Day Parade. Blair Oaks Drive from Nash Drive and The Colony High School will be closed, and the intersection of South Colony Boulevard and Blair Oaks Drive will be shut down. The roads will reopen once the end of the parade has passed through.
Blair Oaks Drive will be closed between Cougar Alley and the teachers lot of The Colony High School for the Liberty by the Lake Festival starting at 5 p.m. and will reopen around 11 p.m. Cougar Alley will be closed from the student lot entrance of The Colony High School to Blair Oaks. No pedestrian traffic is allowed down Cougar Alley.
Memorial Drive will be closed from Paige Road to Blair Oaks Drive for the fireworks starting at 9 p.m., and all business entrances along that section will be blocked. They will reopen Memorial Drive after the fireworks.
Flower Mound
Flower Mound is hosting the Independence Day Fest with its annual Children’s Parade. Several road closures will occur in the city ahead of the events.

At 9 a.m. Friday, Duncan Lane between Flower Mound Road and Spinks Road will close and reopen at 8 p.m. Sunday.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, Garden Ridge Boulevard will close to northbound traffic just south of the Spinks Road intersection. Garden Ridge Boulevard will also close to southbound traffic at Somerset Drive. Spinks Road will be closed in both directions from Garden Ridge Boulevard to Duncan Lane. The roads will reopen after the festival ends at around 11 p.m., according to city officials.
