The Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular opened this week at Radio City Music Hall with the 84 leggy ladies back better than ever.

The Rockettes have been performing for 93 years, and draw over 1 million people during the holiday season.

Each year, three young ballerinas get to join the Rockettes on stage in the role of Clara, performing a classical ballet solo and pas de deux. This year Angela Carter, Toni Lange, and Mila Simunic, who were all 2026 Youth America Grand Prix finalists, will take the great stage.

The number also includes the iconic Wooden Soldier Fall, where all the toy soldiers fall down domino style, from the beginning of the chorus line to the end.

Meet Charles “Jojo” Yawson, the first recipient of The Harlem Angels Academic Excellence Award.

He got a free book, a couple of T-Shirts, a certificate for framing and a nice check for $200. Congrats, Jojo!

A recent story about how Yawson had scored a perfect 100 on his NYS Chemistry Regents Exam caught the eye of the creator of The Harlem Angels, Seth Greenky.

For the past 25 years, Jojo’s teacher at Baldwin High School on Long Island, Anthony Simonelli, had been offering a $100 award to any of his students who made that perfect score. Jojo is the first and only student of Simonelli’s to do it.

The Harlem Angels saw that story and decided Jojo should be the first recipient of their Certificate of Achievement and gave him $200.

What makes this even more amazing is that, of all the hundreds of high schools on Long Island, Jojo attends the Greenky’s alma mater.

More evidence that the universe works in mysterious ways.

MoMA PS1 is celebrating its 50th anniversary year with a series of shows including New York Fashion at PS1, 1980–1984, an exhibition focusing on the work of the late stylist Hollywood Di Russo.

The show, curated by Kari Rittenbach, recreates Di Russo’s original avant-garde installations, featuring designs by Willi Smith, Betsey Johnson, Julio Espada, Homer Layne and the legendary couturier Charles James.

R. Couri Hay, who authored “Charles James: Beneath the Dress,” lent a group of James’s controversial erotic drawings to the museum.

Two major films anchor the exhibition, one about Willi Smith with cameos by Bill T. Jones and Jenny Holzer, and the other Anton Perich’s film about James, in which Hay interviews the designer for over 20 hours.

Hay told me, “The length of the film was inspired by my friend Andy Warhol who kept telling me to ‘make it longer,’ so I filmed it into the wee hours, over several years, right up to the time Charles died at the Chelsea Hotel in 1978.”

Mark Zuckerberg’s father, dentist Dr. Edward Zuckerberg, recently gave a talk on emerging research in the field of oral health at Opal Group founder Abe Wellington’s Forum in Napa Valley.

During his keynote address, he told a funny story about his son that had the guests, including his wife Karen, laughing.

The doctor shared that his then 11-year-old son Mark was having trouble with their home’s computers so, “I upgraded the house’s system and he really appreciated it,” said the doting father.

With that upgrade, Mark was able to complete a project that he dubbed ZuckNet, a home messaging system that allowed his family to talk to each other on their computers. This helped pave the way for Mark to create Facebook while at Harvard when he was 19.

The host of the Arthur Aidala Power Hour on AM970 radio has debuted the show’s new theme song inspired by the sound tracks of Frank Sinatra and Bruce Springsteen via the magic of AI.

The high-profile lawyer crafted an anthem that bottles up the electric energy of the city from its iconic bridges to the Broadway lights.

“New York City isn’t just a place where I practice law; it’s running straight through my veins,” Aidala said.

“I wanted a theme song that sounded like a Tuesday night rush hour in Manhattan, gritty, energetic, and unapologetically New York.”

Brooklyn born and raised, he confessed, “The song is a love letter to the town that raised me.”

Paul McCartney’s handwritten lyrics for “Hey Jude” are now on the market for $595K.

The 1968 lyric sheet — covered in McCartney’s notes, revisions, and studio instructions — is being offered by New Orleans antiques dealer M.S. Rau.

McCartney changed the final verse to the lyrics we know today: “Remember to let her under your skin, then you’ll begin to make it better.”

“Hey Jude” spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains one of The Beatles’ most beloved songs.

Beatles memorabilia can command serious money: John Lennon’s handwritten “A Day in the Life” lyrics sold for $1.2 million.

And the timing is pretty fab as McCartney and Ringo Starr are back on the charts with their new single “Home to Us.”
