Ryan Gosling’s band Dead Man’s Bones teases first new music since 2009

Actor Ryan Gosling’s band Dead Man’s Bones appears ready to resurrect a musical career that’s been dormant since 2009.

Gosling’s partner Eva Mendez dropped a hint Thursday that something was in the works.

“Trying to summon new music from DEAD MAN’S BONES,” she posted on Instagram. “I can feel it in the air…”

A fan page dedicated to Gosling said new music was on its way. Mendez responded with black heart emojis.

Her next two posts confirmed that on Tuesday, just in time for Halloween, Gosling’s two-man act — described by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a “haunted folk-rock band” — will release their first track in 17 years.

“He came through on his promise to me,” Mendez posted.

The band and its label also posted a preview of their upcoming music on Instagram.

“Dead Man’s Bones must wait to rise, from the house where shadows cry,” a creepy voice says on that preview.  “All of this must change Oct. 27, when our ghosts must leave our world for this, to dance with us at twilight time, and bring your hand to lie in mine.”

Gosling and his musical partner Zach Shields released their debut self-titled album in 2009, then all but disappeared.

The 45-year-old actor has stayed busy by making movies including “Project Hail Mary,” “Barbie,” “Half Nelson,” “Blade Runner 2049” and “La La Land.” Three of those films earned Academy Award nominations for the Canadian star.
