A teenager was shot and wounded on a Brooklyn subway platform fighting back against a mugger trying to steal her bag, police said Monday.
The 18-year-old victim put up a fight when the crook snatched her bag on the platform at the President St.-Medgar Evers College stop in Crown Heights about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
As they both tugged at the bag, the robber fired one shot, hitting the victim in her chest.
The shooter ran off with the victim’s bag but ditched it nearly two miles away on Pacific St. near Utica Ave., police said.
NYPD cops rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
A bullet fragment was recovered by investigators at the scene.
The shooter has not been caught. He was wearing a red Yankees cap, black shirt, black sneakers and a black face mask and was carrying a backpack, cops said.
The stolen bag was found when police tracked the victim’s phone.
