
An 18-year-old accused of sexually abusing a mother as she rode a NYC subway train with two children in tow has been arrested, police said Wednesday.
Ari Shtein, a resident of Washington D.C, surrendered with his lawyer and was charged Wednesday with aggravated sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
The kids, both under 17, were with the 30-year-old victim when the incident happened, 3 p.m. on June 28 on a northbound R train as it approached the W. 28th St. station.
Police said Shtein was on the train behind the victim when he abused her. The children were not hurt.
The victim got off the train at W. 28th St. and reported the attack to police. She was transported to an area hosptial for treatment.
Cops later released to the media a photo of the suspect that was taken on the train.
Shtein has a Washington, D.C. address but it wasn’t immediately clear if he lives there or in New York City.
He has no arrest record in the city.
