The Frisco Police Department arrested a third suspect Wednesday on a murder warrant in a 24-year-old cold case.
Working with the Waxahachie Police Department, Frisco police said Waxahachie resident Jason Honrud, 50, was arrested at about 7 a.m. in connection to the murder of Frank Weiss.
Weiss was a Plano businessman and military veteran whose body was found wrapped in plastic bags and weighted down in Lake Lewisville in 2002.
Honrud is married to Lisa Honrud, 55, who was arrested as a suspect for the murder in April. Before marrying Jason, Lisa was previously married to Weiss.
Keith Hart, 57, of Waxahachie, was arrested last month as a second suspect in the case.
Jason Honrud’s arrest marks the third major development this year in a case that had remained unsolved for decades before investigators reopened it early this year using updated forensic analysis and new witness interviews.
