Two teenage boys were arrested in separate incidents for smuggling firearms into schools in Brooklyn and the Bronx Tuesday, cops said.
The Bronx bust saw police recover a 9-mm Glock from the backpack of a 15-year-old student at Eximius Preparatory Academy on Fulton St. near E. 170th St. in Morrisania around 2:07 p.m., police said.
The weapon, along with 20 rounds of ammunition, was discovered after the teen was captured by an NYPD warrants squad, sources said. It was not immediately clear why the boy was being sought.
The suspect, whose name is being withheld due to his age, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.
Earlier in the day in Brooklyn, a 17-year-old boy was taken into custody around 11:15 a.m. after a firearm was found in his backpack at the Brooklyn High School for Law and Technology in Bedford-Stuyvesant, according to police.
Charges against that teen were pending Tuesday.
