Village People singer Victor Willis died of primary liver cancer with metastasis, his wife said Tuesday.

“Primary liver cancer runs in Victor’s family as his mother also died of primary liver cancer, and so has several other relatives,” Karen Willis wrote on Facebook.

The 74-year-old performer behind the hit songs “Macho Man” and “In the Navy” died on June 30.

The disco band said at the time that it lost its frontman, who dressed as a police officer when performing, to “a short but aggressive illness.”

Willis also wrote and sang the Village People’s 1978 anthem “Y.M.C.A.”

That pop culture classic enjoyed new relevance in recent years thanks to being in heavy rotation at MAGA rallies, where President Trump often dances to the song.

“We will think of Victor every time every time YMCA is played,” Trump posted on social media after Willis died.

Willis was married to “The Cosby Show” star Phylicia Rashad from 1978 to 1982. They met while performing “The Wiz” on Broadway. The New York Times said that he married Karen Willis, an entertainment lawyer and executive, in 2007.

Willis complained in her Facebook post that some publications writing about her husband’s death have incorrectly identified her as Karen Huff-Willis.

“I don’t know how that got started,” she added.
